It’s belated, but I didn’t get the word about this until another Vulcan employee let me know. Sylvia Williams, Vulcan’s office manager and confidant to its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Vernell S. Warrington, passed away 11 February 2022. From her obituary:
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Williams (Soddy Daisy, Tennessee), who passed away on February 11, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends…
She was predeceased by : her parents, Earl Brumlow and Aldine Eustice Brumlow; her husband William H. “Bill” Williams; and her brothers, Carlos Warren Brumlow and Glenn Brumlow.
She is survived by : her brother Stan Brumlow (Ann); her children, Mike Williams (Heather) and Phyllis Williams; her grandchildren, Travis Williams (Jana) and Alisha Williams Armstrong (Ryan); and her great grandchildren, Gavin Williams, Jaxon Williams, Canon Armstrong and Cruz Armstrong. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Sylvia was one of those people who made Vulcan work. Our prayers are with her family.
