Above are some historical flat sheeting profiles, including the following:
- SP-6A and SP-7A (Bethlehem Steel)
- I-21 and I-28S (Inland Steel)
- MP-101 and MP-102 (U.S. Steel)
Many engineers are looking for properties of these sheets (such as moment of inertia and section modulus) that Vulcan didn’t have much interest in. In the 1970’s, the sheet pile manufacturers changed their designations; a conversion chart for some of those designations can be found in Vulcan Onshore Tip #51: Sheet Pile Designations.
More information on these can be found in the vulcanhammer.info Guide to Pile Driving Equipment.
